GCED is a cross disability organisation established in 2018 and registered in 2020. The organization was formed out of a number of trainings being offered by the Centre for Employment of Persons with Disabilities for Persons with Disabilities doing their own businesses. It became necessary to come together as a united front to be able to present our challenges and seek solutions to them. GCED is a network of businessmen and women with Disabilities who have decided to come together to break down all barriers that negatively affect their participation in the business environment.
OBJECTIVESS
Advocacy for Disability inclusive Business Environment.
Promoting disability inclusive financial sector in which PWDs can access credits.
Provide Entrepreneurial training for PWD business owners
Providing relevant business-related information to businessmen and women with disabilities
Monitoring of government implementation of pro-disability business policies such as the common fund for persons with Disabilities at the District Assemblies
Mentoring PWDs in entrepreneurship.
Promote networking among members locally and internationally
Major accomplishments in the area of the targeted activity
Our major achievement as a young organization to be able to open branches in all the 16 regions of Ghana, with membership over 1500 members. What it means is that we are able to cover every person with disabilities who is self-employed or want to be, in Ghana.
The organization is able to train 870 members in Entrepreneurship skills and financial Literacy
The organization has facilitated financial support for 700 members from the Ghana Enterprise Agency
310 members have been supported with soft loans in the Greater Accra, Western Region and Ashanti, Central Region, Volta Region and Eastern Region by MTN in collaboration with INNOHUB.
112 master craft men and women have been trained on PRECISION QUALITY by the Design Technology Institute DTI

The Vision of the GCED is an economically inclusive Ghanaian society in which PWDs have equal opportunity to create their own businesses as well as equal access to Employment opportunities, in accordance with the National disability Act (715) and the
UNCRPD.
The Mission of the GCED is to contribute towards the creation of an enabling business environment that could enhance entrepreneurial abilities and entrepreneurship among PWDs.
